Provincial Infection Control Network of BC

Our vision is fewer infections and better health care.

The Provincial Infection Control Network of British Columbia (PICNet) is a program of PHSA that works in partnership with the B.C. health authorities, the B.C. Ministry of Health and other related organizations to improve infection prevention and control in BC health-care facilities.

PICNet has three main areas of focus:

  • surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (such as C.difficile and MRSA)
  • development and promotion of evidence-based practices
  • development of educational tools and resources.
