Provincial Infection Control Network of BC

Our vision is fewer infections and better health care.
The Provincial Infection Control Network of British Columbia (PICNet) is a program of PHSA that works to reduce health-care-associated infections in BC health care facilities.

The program works in partnership with regional health authorities, the provincial Ministry of Health and other related organizations to improve infection prevention and control in B.C. health-care facilities.

PICNet has three main areas of focus:

  • Surveillance of health-care-associated infections (such as C.difficile and MRSA);
  • Development and promotion of evidence-based practices; and
  • Development of educational tools and resources.
