What We Do

PHSA’s Research and Academic Services team supports PHSA’s thriving research community, and leads in student practice education innovation and delivery.


We are a hub that supports PHSA’s programs by:

  • liaising with corporate services to strengthen support for PHSA’s research and education mandate;
  • helping researchers and their staff navigate PHSA’s unique research landscape and identify key resources;
  • clarifying compliance requirements for research and advising on ways to reduce and manage risks;
  • managing PHSA’s Research Conflict of Interest (CoI) process to help foster a culture of transparency and safeguard the public’s trust in our research.

Academic student education

We are a hub that supports PHSA’s programs by:

  • coordinating resources for PHSA programs to meet provincial practice education guidelines (orientation, placement coordination, etc.);
  • establishing education affiliation agreements with our academic partners;
  • collaborating with support services to ensure streamlined and appropriate access for students and faculty to clinical systems;
  • harmonizing resources and processes with other health authorities and our academic partners to ensure consistent practices across the province.
