Post-COVID-19 Interdisciplinary Clinical Care Network

The Post-COVID-19 Interdisciplinary Clinical Care Network offers education, care, and research opportunities to support patients experiencing post-COVID symptoms and their health-care providers.

The Post-COVID-19 Interdisciplinary Clinical Care Network aims to support the best possible outcomes for people recovering from lingering symptoms after COVID-19 infection, through education, care and research.

The Network is a partnership between the provincial Ministry of Health, PHSA, Providence Health Care (which manages the provincial virtual clinic), B.C.’s regional health authorities, patients and research organizations across the province to offer resources to help those affected navigate their symptoms. The Network also offers support for primary care providers. To learn more, watch our introductory video.

Clinical care

As of April 1, 2023, PC-ICCN offers a province-wide virtual Post-COVID Recovery Clinic serving people throughout B.C.

You can be referred if you have a BC Services Card and you're still experiencing symptoms that limit your function and quality of life three (3) months or more post-COVID-19. Speak to your family doctor or nurse practitioner about a referral.

More about post-COVID-19 care &recovery

At the Post-COVID Recovery Clinic, patients are assessed by a specialist nurse, then based on symptoms, receive immediate access to the most appropriate self-management supports and group learning opportunities based on individual needs.

If assessment identifies the need for a physician consultation as part the patient's recovery, provincial clinic staff will facilitate this, whether it be for more general medicine needs or sub-specialist needs.

You can refer patients with a BC Services Card who have symptoms, persisting three (3) or more months post-COVID which limit their function and quality of life.

Other causes for symptoms must be thoroughly investigated prior to referral (see Pre Referral Diagnostic Checklist (PDF)). Your patient does not need a positive COVID test for referral.

The program continues to care for patients who access Network services virtually. While the number of new patients with long-COVID symptoms is decreasing, these services and resources will be offered into the future.
