PHSA Supply Chain's Innovation Intake program was created to facilitate prompt and appropriate adoption of innovations, applying a provincial lens and collaborative partnerships with health authority clinical and operational leads to match new innovations with a clear connection to health care needs in British Columbia.
Innovation is any novel concept, service, product, or process with the potential to enhance patient outcomes, decrease healthcare costs, optimize clinical efficiency, promote planetary health, and support Indigenous economic reconciliation.
- Interested suppliers with innovative solutions are encouraged to complete and submit the
PHSA Supply Chain Innovation Intake Form.
- Submitted innovations will be reviewed and checked for potential conflicts with any current contract. Those that meet the criteria may be invited to present at a Value Analysis Team (VAT) committee meeting or to other interested Health Authority partners.
- The PHSA Value Analysis Teams (VATs) consist of dedicated healthcare professionals who collaborate on clinical and sourcing issues across the province. These teams include clinicians, operations leaders from all BC health authorities, Supply Chain clinical coordinators, and sourcing specialists. The primary goal of VATs is to enhance patient safety and quality of care, improve patient outcomes, and reduce costs through a collaborative approach to product and service decisions.

- If the VAT and/or health authority partners express interest in your submission, a clinical evaluation may be requested.
- Approved submissions will then proceed through the public procurement process with PHSA Supply Chain.
Qualified suppliers will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations at the annual PHSA Innovation Intake Day, where they can engage with key clinical and procurement decision-makers from across the province.
