EDI Guidelines

Electronic Data Interchange

Provincial Health Services Authority has embarked on a unique initiative to standardize electronic data interchange (EDI) for business transactions with our suppliers. The goal of this initiative is to expand and advance the automated interchange that allows for quick and accurate ordering, delivery, receipt, and payment across PHSA’s provincial supply chain.

PHSA Supply Chain’s EDI Engagement team will be reaching out to our partners in the supplier community to start the process of standardizing document exchange to the benefit of both parties.

Suppliers wishing to start a new EDI trading partnership or wishing to proactively expand on existing partnerships can contact PHSAEdiEngagement@phsa.ca for more details.

Our approach

The following principles guide our approach to EDI:

  • Maximize value by engaging high volume partners.
  • Prioritize the exchange of documents that are compliant with systems on both sides
  • Work with one provincial standard that will work for health care supply chains across British Columbia
