To obtain CareConnect access, you will need to complete the six steps outlined below. This entire process will take around 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete.
CareConnect access is to support direct clinical care only. This does not include access for purposes of secondary use such as research, quality improvement or quality assurance purposes.

1Register and Download the BC Services Card
Please Note: The CareConnect team does not have any access to personal information that the BC Services Card collects from you. We are not able to approve or bypass any steps required to attain the service. For more information please follow the
Privacy Statement published on the BC Services Card website.
2Log On and Request CareConnect Access

- Select "Use a Mobile Card"
- Enter the pairing code into your BC Services Card App
- You will automatically be taken to the next page.
- Press "Remember Your Device" and press "Continue."

Registration of Your CareConnect Account
- After you log in to https://my.careconnect.ca/ using your BC Services Card, you will be prompted to create your CareConnect account.
- Complete your personal registration.
- If you are a Pharmacist please click "other."
- If you have a current Health Authority account, please Do Not register with your Health Authority account. Please click No, and create an HxBC account.
Please Note: If you are an MOA with a Health Authority account, Please press "No" even if you have another network account. Do not enter your network account information if you are an MOA. Please create a new HxBC account.

- Create a Username (username will be used to log into the CareConnect portal, please verify before continuing).
- Create a Password (password must be at least six characters long and must contain a combination of at least three of the following characters: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, symbols).
- Click "Register."
4Request Clinic Access
- Select "Clinic Access" – the term clinic applies to any worksite including a pharmacy.
- Type in your clinic's address and press "Continue."
Please Note: To locate your clinic enter the full address: Unit Number, Street Number, Street Name, City, Province, and Postal Code.
- Select "Private Practice" as the Clinic Location Type.
- Select "No" for the question about the PPN if you are unsure.
- Click "Register."
- A confirmation will be sent to your email.
Please Note: Once Step 4 is complete, you will see "Pending" on your screen, please disregard and continue onto Step 5.
5Request CareConnect Access
- Click "CareConnect Access."
- If this returns an error, refer to the bottom of step 5.
- If you are not a physician, the form will ask you for an authorizer.
- Please enter your own information as the authorizer.
- Our team will attach you to the appropriate authorizer once you request access.
- Clinic details will be automatically populated to match the clinic you have requested access for.
- Answer the 5 questions and click "Submit."
How to Trouble Shoot "Request Access to CareConnect" Error
- Start by closing out of the browser.
- Log back in using your BC Services Card App.
- Select "CareConnect access", and continue your progress will not be lost.
6Complete the Online Privacy Course
- Create an account or log in using an existing account.
- If you are not a Health Authority Employee, press "General" when creating an account.
- Please check before beginning that you are enrolling in 'Privacy and Security Training for Community Care Providers' and NOT 'Privacy and Security 101'.
- If you follow the link here, it will direct you to the right course.
- After you have opened and read the PDF, please manually check the box to acknowledge your course completion.
- Once the course has been completed, you will receive an email confirmation in approximately 10 minutes.
- Our team automatically receives an email confirmation when you have completed the course as well.
7Health Professional CareConnect Access Agreement (HPCAA)
- In
order to gain CareConnect access we require all Physicians, Nurse Practitioners
(NPs), Pharmacists, and Registered Nurses (RNs) to digitally acknowledge that
they have read the HPCAA.
- Access the HPCAA on the LearningHub.
- Select "Register."
- Create an account or log in using an existing account.
- If you are not a Health Authority Employee, press "General" when creating an account.

- After you have opened and read the PDF, please manually check the box to acknowledge your first module completion.
- Next, please open the "Completion Acknowledgement" link and click "Yes" and "Save my choice."
- Once completed return to the main page by selecting the course title.
- Finally, manually check the box to confirm completion of the second module.

- Once the confirmation of acknowledgement has been completed, you will receive an email confirmation in approximately 10 minutes.
- Our team automatically receives an email confirmation when you have completed the module as well.

Your CareConnect request has now been submitted and is pending approval. A member of the CareConnect team will be in touch with you via the email address you provided in 1-2 business days. Please note that access will require a different URL than the my.careconnect.ca site used to create an account.
