Esther Khor is the manager of the Post-COVID Interdisciplinary Clinical Care Network (PC-ICCN).

PC-ICCN 's  patient-oriented researchers represent diverse areas of health care expertise and are actively doing research to support communities throughout B.C. and Canada. Patients referred to the Network can learn more about research opportunities and volunteer to participate if they wish.

Patients like Sandy are excited about pairing with researchers to study the long-term effects of the virus.

“I’m happy to have been paired with researchers, especially after catching COVID-19 twice,” she said. “I was involved in a research project after the first time, which studied a possible genetic link that could make people more likely to catch COVID.”

The Network uses data collected to inform and evolve its services to meet the needs of its patients experiencing Post COVID.

Esther Khor is the research operations manager of PC-ICCN. In an interview, she noted that one of her main goals is to start conversations with patients.

“Now, not only do all of our patients have access to a research assistant, but we also now have a patient partner group,” she observed. “We connect directly to researchers to better plan studies, and to better understand if the question that they're asking means something to patients.”
