PHSA research programs ranked in national top 10 on annual list

Research Infosource, a leading Canadian research, consulting, and publishing firm, has named PHSA as sixth overall in its annual "Top 40 Research Hospitals" list, and seventh in its "Top 10 Research Hospitals by Growth" list.

The ranking information is based on expenditures across PHSA's research enterprise, including its five research institutes and its corporate areas. 

Rankings were calculated based upon the 2019-2020 fiscal year. PHSA has risen one place, from seventh in its overall ranking from the previous year. PHSA was also ranked seventh in spending growth, with a 14 per cent increase in investment for research in 2019-2020.

In additional recognition, PHSA was ranked 16th nationally for spending per researcher ($1,864,000) and 13th for research spending as a percentage of total hospital spending (four per cent).
