PHSA and its programs notify the public of current infections or outbreaks of diseases at its hospitals and agencies through the public health departments.
The Public Health department declares infectious diseases outbreaks information, such as of C.difficile, norovirus and the flu, for hospitals/facilities.
As PHSA has facilities throughout BC, there are multiple Public Health regions that our facilities are a part of.
The outbreak list includes the following facilities managed by the Provincial Health Service Authority:
- BC Cancer
- BC Children's Hospital and Sunny Hill Health Centre
- BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services
- BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre
