The Minister of Health is responsible for the governance and accountability, audit, service delivery, and compensation for all publicly funded laboratory services in BC under the Laboratory Services Act (LSA).
When the Minister of Health makes strategic and operational decisions in association with laboratory services, they issue an official record of decision and makes the content available to the public.
Records of decision may be about public and private facilities that offer laboratory and/or specimen collection services, laboratory-related BC guidelines, the Laboratory Services Outpatient Payment Schedule, or laboratory requisitions.
The Minister of Health also issues ministerial orders related to establishing approved practitioner schedules.
