Trans Care BC is offering a special edition of the clinical mentorship call with registered clinical counsellor, J. Matsui De Roo, this Thursday April 16th:
Support Through Challenging Times
The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented global health event affecting both our patients/clients and ourselves. This is an especially difficult time for frontline healthcare workers, both personally and professionally. This clinical mentorship session will be led by a trauma-informed mental health professional providing guidance on how to best support you and your trans, nonbinary, Two-Spirit and gender diverse clients during the pandemic.
You will be welcomed to share how you are doing, as well as ask questions. We'll be flexible and responsive to your needs, and are prepared to share resources and learnings on:
- How to support patients struggling with maintaining their mental health through this time
- Self-care and sustainment strategies for both yourself and your patients
- Tools to help minimize vicarious trauma and burnout
We welcome your question in advance of the call to best address your concerns, via email to trans.edu@phsa.ca.
Thursday April 16th at 12:10pm-1:30pm* Please note the slightly longer timeframe to allow for fulsome discussion on this week.
