Clinical mentor spotlight: Dana Jones

Dana Jones is a family nurse practitioner who has been working at Rutland Aurora Health Centre in Kelowna since October 2013.   She began practicing as a nurse practitioner in 2008, and previously worked with Indigenous communities in the Fraser Valley.  As a registered nurse, Dana worked outpost nursing in Nunavut, NWT and Northern BC, VGH ER, and the primary care clinics in Vancouver: Downtown Community Health Centre, Pender Clinic and Three Bridges. 


Dana values building long term, safe, trusting, shared care relationships with patients.  She has been a hormone and surgical assessor for Transcare BC since January 2016, and has special interests in transgender health, HIV, mental health and substance use and multi-generational family care.


Physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, registered clinical counsellors, and registered health care professionals are invited to join Dana Jones on January 16th Mentorship Call. This dial-in meeting will provide an opportunity for sharing of information and resources, clinical discussion and professional networking. 

Trans Care BC’s Clinical Mentorship Call is held every Thursday from 12:10 to 1:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). If you would like to be involved, please email trans.edu@phsa.ca to be included on our distribution list. Meeting minutes will be made available to all members.
