We are excited for this opportunity to support this network of regional and provincial projects working to support trans, gender diverse, and Two-Spirit children, youth, and adults, as well as their parents/caregivers, families, partners, and support networks.
- 37 projects were selected out of 51 applications
- 19 are peer support projects
- 7 are clinical mental health projects with peer involvement
- 11 projects fit into both categories
- 19 projects are situated within rural communities or where services do not exist or are minimal
- Projects are represented across all five health authority regions
- 15 projects focus on specific communities, such as children/families, BIMPOC, sex worker, refugee/newcomer, and Two-Spirit community.
Funding provides capacity-building support for communities to develop, or build upon, peer support and mental health and well-being services where they do not exist or are minimal, for trans, gender diverse, and Two-Spirit community members, including their parents/caregivers and families.
We received a high number of applications from across BC and we thank all applicants for their interest and for sharing their ideas with us.
