This makes British Columbia the first province in western Canada to offer these types of surgeries.

The announcement came after many years of planning and development work done by Trans Care BC, the Ministry of Health and regional health authorities in B.C. – as well as advocacy for better care by the trans community.

This is exciting news, and we are thrilled to be part of bringing this essential care closer to home. We'll be keeping you informed of the development of the new surgical program and more information will be posted on the website as it becomes available on the website.

For now you can check out this page and go to lower body surgery and click on the referrals to Vancouver gender surgery tab. Here you'll find information which addresses questions you may have about the new surgical program.
