Clinical Mentor Spotlight: Dr. Sharmeen Mazaheri

We are pleased to introduce our September 16th Clinical Mentorship Call mentor:  Dr. Sharmeen Mazaheri!

Sharmeen Mazaheri finished UBC Rural Family Medicine training in 2006. She was a rural locum GP + ER physician until 2010. After working in various communities such as Hazelton, Quesnel and Haida Gwaii she settled on Vancouver Island in Courtenay BC. In 2015, wanting more out of her regular family practice, she began providing gender affirming care. At this time she provides consultation for: surgical readiness, hormone and puberty blocker readiness as well as ongoing management for gender diverse youth as well as adults. She is a RACE line consultant for gender medicine. Sharmeen also works at Foundry in Campbell River and will be working at the new Foundry in the Comox Valley providing gender affirming care to youth. She is thankful to her mentors, specifically Dr Marria Townsend, Dr Gail Knudson and Dr Dan Metzger who have helped her grow professionally as a care provider.

Physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, registered clinical counsellors, and registered health care professionals are invited to join Dr. Sharmeen Mazaheri on the September 16th Mentorship Call.
