Clinical Mentor Spotlight: Dr. Alex Kavanagh

We are pleased to introduce our July 22nd Clinical Mentorship Call mentor:  Dr. Alex Kavanagh!

​Dr. Kavanagh is a reconstructive urologist certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He completed medical school in 2008 at the University of Calgary. He subsequently completed a urologic residency at the University of British Columbia in 2013. He then obtained a masters degree in epidemiology of public health at Harvard University. He has completed surgical sub-specialty fellowships in both female pelvic floor reconstructive surgery (Dr Boone, Dr Muir) and male urethral reconstructive surgery (Dr Kulkarni). Dr. Kavanagh trained with Dr. Curtis Crane, in Austin, Texas in gender-affirming surgeries in 2018. 

Physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, social workers, registered clinical counsellors, and registered health care professionals are invited to join Dr. Alex Kavanagh on the July 22nd Mentorship Call. This Zoom meeting will provide an opportunity for sharing of information and resources, clinical discussion and professional networking. 

Trans Care BC’s Clinical Mentorship Call is held every Thursday from 12:10 to 1:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). If you would like to be involved, please email trans.edu@phsa.ca to be included on our distribution list. Meeting minutes will be made available to all members.
