J. Matsui De Roo is a third generation Japanese Canadian, mixed race, queer, trans and nonbinary settler, living and working on the unceded ancestral lands of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh nations. Matsui is a registered clinical counsellor and clinical supervisor who offers anti-oppression based education, supervision and guidance for mental health, medical and front line workers with an area of focus in Two-Spirit, trans, non binary and gender diverse wellness.
Their areas of specialization include resilience and healing from trauma; honouring and centring people with intersectional identities; gender affirming sexual health and wellness; supporting individuals living with chronic pain and disability; and helping health care practitioners navigate living and working in small communities.
Providers who support Two-Spirit, trans and gender diverse people are invited to join Matsui De Roo on the February 10th Mentorship Call. This dial-in meeting will provide an opportunity for sharing of information and resources, clinical discussion and professional networking.
Trans Care BC’s Clinical Mentorship Call is held every Thursday from 12:10 to 1:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). If you would like to be involved, please email trans.edu@phsa.ca to be included on our distribution list. Meeting minutes will be made available to all members.
