Any PHSA employee (full-time, part-time or casual) or dependent family member can access EFAP services and resources from Homewood Health free of charge, with all services completely private and confidential.

New Service: Plan Smart Coaching - Stress Soultuions
Stress Solutions consists of one to three telephonic sessions. Sessions will encompass coaching on stress management, lifestyle, priority management and tools such as meditation and relaxation techniques. In addition to coaching supported by a registered counselor or clinician with specialized expertise in stress, employees will also receive a letter of resources with information specific to their source or primary stress indication. 

Counselling is currently available by telephone, video, private online chat or private messaging. 

Your EFAP helps you take practical and effective steps to improve well-being and be the best you can be. Within a supportive, confidential, and caring environment you can receive counselling for any challenge.

Please Note: Counselling services will continue to be available for all staff and dependent family members. Over the next couple of weeks, EFAP will be offering telephonic counselling in place of face to face counselling.


All online services, such as video and e-counselling will remain available to staff.

CISM is a comprehensive approach to help manage stress resulting from critical incidents in the workplace. Homewood offers a multi-faceted, resilience-based approach to crisis intervention, and is designed to offer assessment and emotional first aid to employees after a traumatic event. CISM services are accessed by calling Homewood at 1-800-663-1142.

Note: All costs associated with CISM services are to be covered by the department requesting them. 

 

Access the Homewood's free i-Volve Online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy  program to help manage depression and/or anxiety.


This online, self-paced treatment program is available 24/7 and uses cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT),  to help you identify, challenge and overcome anxious and/or depressive thoughts, behaviors and emotions.

The Key Person Advice Line allows human resources, managers and supervisors to contact a counsellor on an immediate, as-needed basis for a professional opinion on workplace situations including employee conflict, unusual employee behaviour and providing assistance to employees. Access by calling 1-800-663-1142.

 
Homewood’s wellness sessions are short workshops providing participants with general knowledge about personal health and well-being strategies. Numerous topics are covered including change and stress, parenting and family life, healthy living, mental health and more.
