As academic health centres, BC Children’s and BC Women’s are affiliated with the UBC Faculty of Medicine and other universities and colleges, serving as clinical education sites for hundreds of  health professional trainees each year.

Patients admitted to BC Children’s and BC Women’s benefit from the talent and experience of the very finest physicians, nurses, researchers and other health care providers. We can all be proud that the next generation of health professionals are being trained by these excellent mentors.

Our renowned physicians and scientists are studying a variety of important medical issues from in-utero surgery to gene therapy. Here, health care professionals from many disciplines work together as a team to cure illness, conquer disease and assure the needed support for both the patient and family is available.
