The construction of the Teck Acute Care Centre is a P3 (public-private partnership) arrangement through a 30-year, fixed-price project agreement with Affinity Partnerships to design, build, finance and maintain the TACC.
Affinity Partnerships is our private partner, consisting of several companies working together on the design, building, financing and maintenance aspects of the project.
This group brings years of design and architectural experience to the project, having successfully completed several children's and women's hospitals across North America and Europe. It combines this experience with the strength and innovation of British Columbia-based construction industry.
- Design is being provided in a partnership between Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects (ZGF) LLP and CEI Architecture.
- Construction services are being delivered through a joint venture between Balfour Beatty Construction and Ledcor Design Build.
- Affinity Partnerships’ equity partners include joint venture between Balfour Beatty Investments and Ledcor Developments.
- Balfour Beatty Communities and Black & McDonald Limited will participate in a joint venture to deliver facilities management services over the 30-year agreement period.
All clinical services will be funded by the Province of British Columbia and delivered by BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre, in keeping with the principles of the Canada Health Act.
