The Teck Acute Care Centre (TACC) is now the tallest building on the hospital campus, with construction underway on the eighth floor. With about 24 months to go until the doors open to patients, work is at a fever pitch on the TACC construction site.
It’s truly exciting to see the drawings and plans on paper finally come to life. Check out our latest construction progress video for a behind the scenes look.
At the same time, health-care providers and hospital staff at BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre are busy preparing for opening day. It’s not just about moving furniture and equipment into a new building. Many of the programs and services will be providing care to patients in a different way and in spaces that are being built and organized differently. Dedicated and passionate people are working hard to prepare and plan for the transition and training that will be involved in this process.
As the year progresses, stay tuned for more updates about what it takes to move to a new hospital and to continue to deliver excellent care.
