November 23, 2018
Starting the week of November 26, 2018, until early December 2018, there will be no after hours access between the Teck ACC and the BC Children's Lobby through the first floor covered walkway or doors to the courtyard. The alternate route for people who would like to travel between these buildings is the bridge walkway on the second floor that connects BC Children's to the Ambulatory Care Building that is attached to Teck ACC.
November 15, 2018
The underground parkade entrance, near the BC Women's entrance will change to a single lane traffic pattern until the end of January 2019. Traffic lights, on a one minute stop/go loop and directional signage are in place to manage the flow of traffic. Drivers are kindly asked to obey the new traffic light system for safety and to minimize wait times as they enter and exit the parkade.
The much anticipated
ground level link from the former BC Children’s Hospital main lobby to the
new Teck Acute Care Centre (Teck ACC) will open on Wednesday February 28, 2018. This link is the last of
the new pedestrian walkways that connect the 1982 building to the Teck ACC.
The new link will
reopen access through the former BC Children’s Emergency entrance that has been
closed since last fall and is one of the last areas to be completed as part of
the Phase 2 Redevelopment work. The link also provides access to several new outdoor spaces, including the Flavelle Family Wellness Park.
The BC Children's Hospital entrance off Oak Street (Entrance #11) remains open during Phase 3 construction activities in the former main hospital building. The roundabout drop-off in this area however is closed to car traffic due to new construction area fencing. Pedestrians are asked to follow signs indicating a change to sidewalk access as a result of the temporary fence.
December 2017The new Urgent Care Centre at BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre is now open.
All patients, families and visitors should enter the hospital campus off of Oak Street and follow the ring road to entrance 93 or 97. Parking is available outside of entrances 93 and 97, as well as in the underground parkade.
