The Quality Awards celebrate the people and projects that make health care better in BC. PHSA has always been committed to innovation and quality in patient care, so it’s no surprise that we have multiple winners and runner-ups at this year’s Quality Awards – six, to be exact.

Launched in 2009, the awards are presented by the BC Patient Safety and Quality Council, and they celebrate individuals, teams and facilities that have improved the quality of care in BC. They also raise the overall profile of efforts to improve quality throughout the province. Awards are given out in four areas of care: Staying Healthy, Getting Better, Living with Illness and Coping with End of Life. There are also awards for four aspiring individuals: Leadership in Advancing the Patient Voice, Everyday Champion, Leadership in Quality and Quality Culture Trailblazer. PHSA was represented in five of these categories!
