Social workers make a real difference in the lives of patients and families during their health care journey. We’re celebrating PHSA’s social workers during Social Work Week – March 15 to 21 – with a special video honouring the important role they play on the health care team and the partnerships they build with patients, families and other health care providers.

Watch “Not what I imagined,” featuring some of PHSA’s social workers from BC Cancer, BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services and BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre.

Social workers act as advocates, advisors, educators and navigators, serving their clients in a way that extends beyond physical health – providing a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on in times of need.

Thank you to all of PHSA’s social workers and the social work community across the province for your contributions to the health and well-being of all British Columbians. We are grateful for the work you do and the compassion you share with patients and peers alike.

Thank a social worker by sending a Message of Thanks!
