A retired banking executive, Mr. Manning lends his expertise to many corporate and non-profit causes, including the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade, where he championed its first and historic gender-balanced board of directors. For over 12 years, he was actively involved with Junior Achievement BC as a board member and two years as board chair. During this time, Mr. Manning played a substantial role in helping the organization extend its reach to students throughout the province.
At the national level, Mr. Manning has been very active in hockey having served as the national chair of Hockey Canada's Initiation program, a director and past chair of the Hockey Canada Foundation, a director of the Greater Toronto Hockey League and is a member of the Mississauga Hockey Hall of Fame.
Mr. Manning’s extensive community service has also been recognized with a Queen Elizabeth ll Diamond Jubilee Medal and Junior Achievement BC’s H.E. Miskiman National Leadership Award (2013).
Established in 1989, the Order of British Columbia is the province’s highest civilian honour. It recognizes people in all sectors of society for outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the province.
