Centre for Translational & Applied Genomics (CTAG)

PHSA Laboratories' Centre for Translational and Applied Genomics (CTAG) is a a CAP Accredited genomics and molecular pathology core facility supported by a world class team of molecular pathologists with diverse clinical and research interests and technical skills.

CTAG operates at PHSA agencies including the BC Cancer Agency, BC Centre for Disease Control, BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre. CTAG offers a broad range of analytical services to the public and private sectors.

As a division of PHSA Laboratories, CTAG’s mission is to develop novel laboratory tests to improve the management of a diverse spectrum of disorders including cancer, infectious diseases, and inherited syndromes.

Services

CTAG services include DNA/RNA analysis, Expression analysis, Histology and Bioinformatics and Data analysis. The full service histology suite is equipped with state-of-the art tissue processing equipment capable of generating samples with unparalleled speed and quality. Samples can be fixed in less than three hours as compared to overnight when using the traditional approach.
