PHSA Emergency Management

Emergency Response System

The PHSA has developed a comprehensive emergency management plan which prepares all of our agencies to respond in the case of a natural disaster, or other emergency in British Columbia.

The Provincial Health Services Authority's Emergency Response System will be activated when an imminent or actual emergency or disaster potentially affects the ability of the PHSA to save lives, reduce suffering, protect public health, protect PHSA's infrastructure or protect the environment.

This plan is intended to serve as an umbrella document; it links with provincial authorities and ministries, various programs and agencies and sites within the PHSA structure. The links below provide useful resources regarding background information for disaster preparedness as well as a number of sections from the PHSA Emergency Response System Manual.
