baby smiling at cameraThe BC Early Hearing Program (BCEHP) is the first province-wide screening program to check hearing in babies born in British Columbia. The program was announced in March 2005 and has been implemented across all Health authorities, with the final screening sites in place in 2009. The program provides newborn hearing screening, follow-up diagnostic assessments, first set of hearing aids and communication and family supports. It is delivered by approximately 350 service providers and professionals in BC’s 6 health and regional authorities.
