Autism Assessment Programs

The BC Autism Assessment Network (BCAAN) provides diagnostic assessments for children and youth (0 to 19) who have been referred for a question of an autism spectrum disorder. BCAAN accepts referrals from all physicians; specialists and non-specialists.

The CDBC Network provides diagnostic and functional assessments, intended for children and youth (0 to 19) who have significant difficulties in multiple areas of function including those with known or suspected history of exposure to substances with neurodevelopmental effects. Referral from pediatrician or child psychiatrists is required (with exceptions based on access).

Referrals to BCAAN or CDBC should be directed to the centralized Regional Coordinator in the health region in which the child or youth resides.
