A forty-five minute Public Presentation Session is scheduled in conjunction with each Open Board Meeting which will provide an opportunity for persons or groups to address the Board. A thirty minute Public Question & Answer Period is scheduled in conjunction with each Open Board Meeting at which the Board will respond to written questions submitted by the public. The Open Board Meeting will begin earlier depending on number of requests for public presentations and number of questions.
Questions submitted by e-mail (cheryl.palazoff@phsa.ca) must be received by 4:30 p.m. on the date preceding the Open Board Meeting or questions can be submitted in writing at the meeting, prior to start of the Public Question & Answer Period.
Procedures for Public Presentations at Open Board Meetings
The PHSA Board schedules public presentations in conjunction with each board meeting. Pre-registration for public presentation is required. If you wish to present to the board, you must must submit a formal written request to PHSA indicating the name of the presenter, the group/delegation they represent, the topic, and a 200 to 300 word summary of the presentation. Your submission must be received prior to the deadline published on the PHSA website at http://www.phsa.ca, and in newspaper advertisements. The deadline to submit your request for public presentation to the board is May 31, 2012.
Procedures for Public Question & Answer Period

Persons or groups wishing to ask questions of the Board may submit them in writing by letter or email prior to the board meeting, or may submit them in writing at the time of registering for the Public Question & Answer Period.

The Board chair will read the submitted question(s) and respond or direct the question to management for response.

Members of the public who have submitted a question, but who cannot personally attend the Open Board Meeting, will receive a written response.

Board and management will answer questions based on the order in which they were received.

The Board and management will endeavour to answer questions during the sessions; in circumstances in which more information is required to answer a question, a written response will be provided at a later date.

The availability of the Public Question & Answer Period will be advertised prior to each Open Board Meeting and posted on the PHSA Web Site.

The Board Chair may, at his or her discretion, extend the period of time allocated to the Public Question & Answer Period.
General information about PHSA Board meetings
Every scheduled meeting of the PHSA Board will, unless the Board otherwise determines, be a combination of an "open" session and "in camera" session.
Details about the time and location of the next scheduled board meeting are available 30 days before the meeting takes place and an agenda is posted seven days prior to the meeting.
The board has six pre-scheduled meetings a year. Opportunities will be provided to the public to make presentations to the Board before or after the conclusion of the regular Board meeting. In addition, the Board will respond to written questions from the public for thirty minutes before every open board meeting. Depending on the number of scheduled public presentations, the Board meeting start time may be adjusted. Details will be posted to this site closer to the date of the meeting.
